BLACK LOTUS YOGA
INTRO WORKSHOP
May 30 - June 1, 2025
Black Lotus Yoga
Black Lotus is the latest blossom of the modern vinyasa tradition. It arose unexpectedly, on a tidal wave of breath, to inspire bold new explorations of the body and mind.
Though rooted in old principles, the system gives tradition new life, by welcoming adaptation within an overarching structure. With six balanced and exhilirating sequences, designed for modern life, Black Lotus Yoga rouses our creative energy, and invites the sap to flow.
What will I learn?
This workshop is an introduction to the Black Lotus system. We learn how the system works, how to use it, how to improvise with it, and how to rise through the sequence over time. We wend our way slow through the First Series, taking the postures one by one, and exploring the patterns of breath and movement that bring the practice alive.
Who can attend?
This workshop is for anyone who wants to learn Black Lotus Yoga, as well as for people who are already practicing the Black Lotus system and want a more rounded understanding. No previous experience with Black Lotus Yoga is necessary. All interested are welcome to join. The entire system is new, and we invite you to share in the excitement.
Ashtanga practitioners will find Black Lotus Yoga to be an inspiring alternative. The system is designed to be more relatable, and also easier on the joints, while encouraging you to move in new ways.
You will learn much about internal alignment, and how to work with prana and apana (the play of forces through the body and mind in the form of groundedness and expansion) in the most potent way, so that your practice always leaves you feeling refreshed and renewed.
